About matte nail designs
A matte top coat removes the shine and gives nails a soft, velvety look. It suits muted colors best: nude, taupe, olive, grey and deep burgundy all look modern in matte. The finish shows oil and tip wear a little sooner than gloss, so wipe nails with rubbing alcohol to refresh it. Matte looks particularly good on short square and oval nails.
A matte finish comes from the top coat, so you can turn any color matte and switch back to gloss later. Matte surfaces pick up oils and stains faster than glossy ones, so wipe them with a little rubbing alcohol when they start to look shiny, and reapply the matte coat after a week. Deep shades such as burgundy, olive, navy and black show the effect best.
This collection currently holds 19 matte designs: the most common shapes are square and oval, most are short and medium in length, the leading colors are green and nude.
